BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A quadruple bacon cheeseburger dubbed “The Dominator,” more dessert options, and day game breakfast specials highlight the new food offerings at Sabres’ games at KeyBank Center this season.

The new options were unveiled during an event on Tuesday ahead of the team’s home opener on Thursday night.

The new burger features four burger patties, brisket, jalapeño poppers, sauce, cheese, bacon and ancho barbecue served on two grilled cheese sandwiches with fries.

Delaware North also introduced the smoking howitzer sandwich, which is smoked cheddar jalapeño topped with Alabama pulled pork, cheese and sauce. Another new sandwich called “The Rachel” is made up of turkey, island dressing, cheese, bacon and zesty slaw served on a Wegmans roll.

There will also be expanded beef on weck options, which is something Delaware North stated they wanted to expand on for this season. Beef on weck poutine will be available, as well as traditional poutine.

In addition, they have worked on more sweet options, which range from desserts like fried dough, along with both a breakfast burger and a breakfast sandwich. Both of those are topped with a doughnut and will be served as a special during day games.

They also have expanded options in the 200 level, which also now includes table service. An expanded menu includes turkey legs, snack boxes, steak and fish.

“We’re really trying to get our guests engaged and understand that this is a place to come for dinner,” Delaware North executive chef Mike Buonopane said. “It’s not just about this perception of hot dogs and stuff like that. We are serving you dinner.”

Delaware North executives said that listening to fans was key. Part of that was expanding all of the food options to all parts of the arena, ensuring that fans in the 300 level can have the same choices as fans in the 100 level.

“What we learned is they want the 100 [level] experience on the 300 [level],” Delaware North general manager for KeyBank Center John DonVito said. “So when you’re coming to the [arena] this year and you go up to the 300s, everything you can get in the 100s, you can get in the 300s.”

A kids’ menu was also introduced for this year, which includes hot dogs, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chicken tenders. All of those items will come with a trading card.

Popular items from last season, such as the two-foot nacho and the hot dog of the game, will return for this season.
