    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Here are four games to watch in Week 6 of Western New York’s football season.

    Canisius (3-2) at Timon (2-3)

    6:30 p.m. at Mulroy Park

    Canisius is ranked No. 1 among Western New York large schools after last week’s big win against St. Francis. … Timon has elevated to Monsignor Martin A division this season and will welcome the Crusaders to Mulroy Park for the first time in eight years. … Canisius sophomore sensation Elijah Kimble received another Connolly Cup nomination after rushing for 207 yards and five touchdowns last week.

    Olean (4-1) at Lackawanna (5-0)

    2 p.m. Saturday

    Lackawanna is No. 1 small school in WNY and No. 9 in the state in Class B, can secure B-3 division title with win against unranked Olean. … Olean’s Phil Vecchio was Buffalo Bills coach of the week after 20-12 win against Maryvale team that was previously ranked 20th in the state. … Blake Kinnaird sealed the win for Olean with his second interception … Lackawanna sophomore RB Tyrone Clark Jr. is second in WNY with 1,203 yards rushing and area-best 18 TDs through five games. Clark was nominated for Connolly Cup after gaining 294 yards with three TDs in 38-28 win against state-ranked Class D foe CSP.

    Depew (4-1) at Maryvale (3-2)

    7 p.m. Friday

    League game with plenty of playoff implications. … Depew is tied for second in competitive B-3 division. … Maryvale has been ranked among the top small schools in WNY but could fall out of playoff position with a third league loss. … Zach Bridenbaker rushed for 156 yards in Depew’s 14-7 win at Springville last week. … Depew won 21-0 at Maryvale when teams last met in spring of 2021.

    Frewsburg (4-0) at Pembroke (3-0)

    7 p.m. Friday

    WNY’s top 8-man football team is ranked No. 9 in the state and visits No. 1 Pembroke, the reigning state champions. … Only matchup of the week between teams both ranked in NYS. … Pembroke won 49-16 last season.
