BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — University at Buffalo linebacker Shaun Dolac has received midseason All-America recognition from The Associated Press and CBS Sports for his performance so far this season.

Dolac, a former walk-on from West Seneca in his fifth year with UB, also has been added to the midseason watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award given to the nation’s most outstanding defensive player.

Through six games, Dolac leads the nation with 87 tackles. He also has three sacks among his 11.5 tackles for loss, second most in NCAA Division I FBS, along with two interceptions. Three times this season Dolac has been selected as Mid-American Conference defensive player of the week.
