    10-year-old boy drowns at Conneaut Beach, Conneaut Police dispatchers say

    A 10-year-old boy drowned at Conneaut Beach on Friday afternoon, according to Conneaut Police dispatchers.

    The boy went missing around 3 p.m., and Conneaut Police and Fire were on the scene, Conneaut Police dispatchers said.

    The U.S. Coast Guard said it was originally a search operation but has turned into a recovery operation.

    Recovery efforts have stopped for Friday night and will resume Saturday, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

    For those who don't know. That beach has a large sandbar. When your on it if you feel ice cold water immediately turn back. It drops off. Then a continuous circle of water goes around in a circle. It has taken some very good adult swimmers. Did anyone see him at the beach? Could he have went looking for mom thinking he got left?

    The parent should have listened to the advisory of RIP CURRENTS! This was 100% preventable regardless of a bathroom break. The child should NOT have been swimming. Even IF they hired lifeguards, the wouldn't have been working because of the current warning.
