Here's where you can get water, ice and charge your phones

Hundreds of thousands across Northeast Ohio have been left without power after severe storms traveled through the area Tuesday afternoon.

Numerous cities have opened stations to help those who were impacted by these storms while power companies are working to restore electricity.

Here is a list of the centers open:

Giant Eagle

First Energy partnered with Giant Eagle to provide free water and ice for residents affected by the storms.

First Energy

Ashtabula County

Ashtabula County Family YMCA
The Family YMCA in Ashtabula is open for people in the community to charge their phones and use the facility showers.
There are open Friday until 9 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Cuyahoga County

Independence
The Civic Center, located at 6363 Selig Blvd., is open Thursday until 9 p.m. for residents in need of power and warm showers.

Brooklyn
Brooklyn's Recreation Center will be open Friday for registered members who need air conditioning and phone charging.

The Recreation Center is located at 7600 Memphis Ave. and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Westlake
The Porter Public Library at 27333 Center Ridge Road in Westlake is open for residents who need air conditioning, power and wifi Friday until 6 p.m.

The Community Services Building, located at 28975 Hilliard Blvd., is also open for power and air conditioning until 4 p.m.

The library will be open Friday until 6 p.m. Residents can have access to computers, seating and self-checkout for most library materials.

Residents can park in the library lot or at Westlake Elementary School.

Lakewood
Cove Community Center has device chargers, air conditioning, WiFi, water, snacks and more. They will be open until 6 PM today.
Cove says they will reopen through the duration of the power outage including Saturday and Sunday, with support staff on hand to assist.

The Lakewood YMCA is also open for residents to charge their devices and cool down.

The City of Cleveland
Beginning Friday at 1 p.m., four City of Cleveland Recreation and Resource Centers will be open until 11 p.m.

Residents will have a place to cool off, connect to Wi-Fi and a limited supply of shelf-stable meals provided by Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

The locations are:

• Collinwood 16300 Lake Shore Blvd – Wi-Fi, no air conditioning
• Zelma George 3155 MLK Jr Blvd – Wi-Fi, air conditioning
• Cudell 1910 West Blvd – Wi-Fi, partial air conditioning
• Michael Zone 6301 Lorain Ave – Wi-Fi, air conditioning

The city said outlets for charging devices at recreation centers are limited. Other alternatives for wi-fi, charging and air conditioning include J Glen Smith Health Center at 11100 St. Clair, McCafferty Health Center at 4242 Lorain, Cleveland Public Library (CPL) branches and Cuyahoga County Public Library branches. All Cleveland Public Library branches will be closed on Friday. Cuyahoga County Library branches will be open.

"Residents who rely on continuous oxygen are encouraged to contact their oxygen supply companies who are working with the health care systems to secure back-up supplies," the city said.

• If residents are experiencing a medical emergency or life-threatening situation or encounter a downed power line – they should call 911.
• Residents with non-emergency questions or concerns should call 311.
• Call the United Way Help Center at 2-1-1 for resource information for food, clothing, housing, healthcare, and more. The United Way Help Center is free and available 24 hours a day.

Lakewood charging centers emerge after power outages affect residents.

Residents can enjoy air conditioning, charging stations and refreshments. Lakewood Police, Fire/EMT and Human Services personnel will also be on hand to assist those in need.

Parma Heights
The Parma Heights Fire Department has offered to fill oxygen tanks for patients if they come to the fire station.

They must be a Parma Heights resident with valid identification. They can go to the station at 6184 Pearl Road.

It is available 24 hours a day.

Middleburg Heights
The City of Middleburg Heights Recreation Center will be open for residents of Middleburg Heights and Brook Park in need of shelter and or to recharge cellphones and other light electrical equipment.

The city is asking that residents remember to bring charging cords and personal hygiene supplies.

Cuyahoga County Public Library
Twenty-one branches of the Cuyahoga County Public Library are open to those who need air conditioning, electricity or Wi-Fi.

The ones that are excluded from this are the following:

• Bay Village
• Brook Park
• Brooklyn
• North Olmsted
• Parma Heights
• Richmond Heights

Additionally, the Cuyahoga County Public Library has opened portions of its administrative building to accommodate a large number of residents in need. The building is located at 2111 Snow Road in Parma.

Lake County

Wickliffe
The Wickliffe Community/Senior Center, located at 900 Worden Road, will be open Thursday until midnight as a cooling and charging center for residents.

Additionally, the Center for Pastoral Leadership, located at 28700 Euclid Ave., has opened its fieldhouse as a charging station until 7 p.m. Thursday.

Eastlake
Eastlake's City Hall and the Senior Center are open for those who need to charge a phone or tablet. The city will keep residents posted on updates.

Geauga County

Chardon
A 'comfort station' is set up in Chardon for those impacted by Tuesday’s severe storms. It was originally at the Chardon United Methodist Church but has since moved to the Chardon Fire Department classroom/community room at 110 S Hambden St., Chardon, OH 44024.

The 'comfort station' is open until 8 p.m. They ask that residents use the side entrance off of South St. near the Mountain Run bike shop.

Lorain County

Avon Lake
Residents of Avon Lake can access charging stations at the following locations:

• The Anchor 33483 Lake Road, Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• Avon Lake Presbyterian Church 32340 Electric Blvd, Friday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and Monday - Thursday next week from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

• Good Neighbor Thrift Store 158 Lear Road, available with a free cup of coffee

Lorain Public Library System
Five branches of the Lorain County Library System are open for people in need of internet access, charging stations and air conditioning.

All branches have internet access and public computers.

Mobile charging stations are available at the Main Library, North Ridgeville and South Lorain branches.

The Summer Lunch Program is still being offered at the Main Library, Domonkas branch and South Lorain Branch. Ages 18 and under are able to receive a free lunch on weekdays through Aug 16.

The library says, "If the food in your refrigerator went bad you can bring the kids to the library for a fresh, healthy meal. The Freedge outside the South Lorain Branch is also stocked regularly and available to anyone in need."

The Avon Branch is closed due to power outages, but the branches in Lorain, Columbia Station, North Ridgeville and Sheffield Lake are open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
