STORRS, C.T. (WROC) — The Syracuse women’s basketball team trailed Arizona 66-61 with less than three minutes to play in the Orange’s opening NCAA tournament game.

Then, Rochester native Dyaisha Fair took over.

The Edison Tech alum scored Syracuse’s final 13 points, powering the Orange to the next round with a 74-69 win.

Fair finished with 32 points, a Syracuse record in the women’s NCAA tournament. That’s despite leaving the game briefly at the end of the third quarter with a leg injury. Fair had to be helped off the court and couldn’t put any pressure on her right leg.

    Fair also added four assists.

Syracuse will now go on to face UConn on Monday, March 25 at 6:00 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN.
