FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WROC) — Sam Pucci and Andrew Crowley each scored a pair of goals as Fairport took down Hilton 5-4 on the first night of boys lacrosse in Section V.

Gianluca Auriuso got Hilton on the board first, which was answered by goals by Mitchell Monte and Pucci to put Fairport up 2-1 after the first quarter.

Brady Quill scored for Hilton to tie the game up, but Crowley scored with less than ten seconds to play in the half to give Fairport a 3-2 lead.

Crowley and Pucci each scored goals in the third quarter to extend Fairport’s advantage to 5-2.

However, the Red Raiders committed multiple penalties to get Hilton back in the game. Auriuso scored another goal with 4:37 left in the game to make it 5-3, followed by a Braydon Pike goal a minute later to make it just a one-goal game at 5-4.

However, Hilton was unable to get a quality shot on net in the final minutes and Luke Ryan made a save in the final seconds to secure the victory.

Fairport (1-0) will host Schroeder on Friday, March 29th. Hilton (0-1) will travel to Irondequoit on Tuesday, April 2nd.
