    Irondequoit boys lacrosse storms back to beat Hilton in overtime

    IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WROC) — Cooper Moore scored a trio of goals late in the game to give Irondequoit boys lacrosse a thrilling 12-11 overtime victory against Hilton.

    Hilton trailed 7-6 midway through the third quarter, but the Cadets scored six of the next seven goals to take an 11-8 lead with just over five minutes to play in the game.

    Moore answered with a pair of goals less than a minute apart to cut the lead to 11-10. With less than a minute to play in regulation, Irondequoit’s Oliver Grisdale ripped in a shot to tie the game and force overtime.

    In overtime, Dylan Carey found Moore in front who popped in the game-winner.

    Moore finished with four goals and two assists. Grisdale, Colin Guidice, and Carey each netted a pair of goals.

    Chase Wilson had five goals for Hilton, while Anthony Mitrano scored three and Gianluca Auriuso netted a pair. Auriuso also had three assists.

    Sven Habitzreuther made 15 saves for Irondequoit while Sam Guzzetta stopped 11 shots for Hilton.

    Irondequoit (2-0) will host Baldwinsville on Saturday, April 6th while Hilton (0-2) will travel to Irondequoit on Tuesday, April 9th.
