News 8 Primetime 585 Elite Awards: Boys Bowling

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Here are the Elite awards for boys bowling, starting with the small schools.

Small Schools

Our first boys award winner helped lead his team to a sectional title with a 1251 series at sectionals the second-best series in his class. He also qualified for the state championships.

This person made the Class D All-Tournament team and the All-Section team comprised of the best six boys bowlers in Section Five regardless of class.

He also qualified for the state championships.

He had the best average all season long among small school bowlers with a 219, and his 761 series was good enough for third best this season among small schools and 8th best among all bowlers.

The News 8 Primetime 585 Elite Award goes to Parker Miller from Clyde-Savannah.

Large Schools

The large school winner was one of the easier decisions our awards committee had this year.

This senior led all of Section Five with a gaudy 248 average which was a ridiculous 15 pins higher than anyone else.

He was one of four bowlers this year to throw a perfect 300 game, and had the high three game series in the section with a 796.

His 1385 series was second best at sectionals and earned him a spot on the All-Tournament Team and the All-Section team, the latter sent him to the state finals.

He was second best to no one at the state finals winning with a six-game average of only 243.

His 1458 series was not only the best in the composite competition, but the best of anyone who competed in the state championships.
