News 8 Primetime 585 Elite Awards: Girls Alpine

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Here are the Elite awards for girls alpine skiing, starting with large schools.

Large Schools

Our large school winner has put Section Five on notice as just a freshman. For the second straight year she was a slalom sectional champion.

This year she also finished third in the giant slalom, giving her the alpine combined title.

She helped lead the Panthers to the Class A team title, and her success continued at states.

She was one of just two skiers to finish top five in both events taking fifth in the slalom and giant slalom.

The large school award winner for girls alpine is Sydney Harff from Pittsford.

Small Schools

Our small school winner had a stellar regular season, taking the individual championship in the Southern Tier Race League Championship and leading her team to a team title.

Her success parlayed into the postseason where she took home a gold medal at sectionals, leading all Class B racers in the giant slalom.

Her fifth-place finish overall in the event was the only top ten finish by a small school racer in the two alpine events.

She had another strong finish in the giant slalom at states, taking 32nd amongst all racers.

The elite award for girls alpine at a small school goes to Callie Little from Dansville Wayco.
