News 8 Primetime 585 Elite Awards: Girls track

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Here are the Elite awards for girls track, starting with the small schools.

Small Schools

This track star was undefeated in Section V competition. She won the 1,000, 1,500 and 3,000 at the Wayne Finger Lakes Championships as well at the Section V Class A4 championships.

She was the Wayne Finger Lakes Female Track MVP and broke her school’s record in the 1,000.

She also was part of the 4×400 relay team that broke another school record and hit the podium at the State qualifier meet with a fifth-place finish.

The Elite Award winner for Girls Track at a small school is from Williamson High school, Hannah Governor !

Large Schools

The large school winner is a young lady who holds School Records in the 55, 200 and the 300-meters.

She competed in the prestigious 2024 New Balance Indoor Nationals in the 60 Meter Dash.

She holds six Section V Individual Championships and was this year’s 2024 Indoor Class A2 Champion in the 300.

She Anchored two Sectional Championship Relay Teams In the 4 by 100 and 4 by 200-meter relays and has been named All County every year in high school.

This Elite Award winner hails from Pittsford Mendon, Tamara Dorval !
