News 8 Primetime 585 Elite Awards: Boys field

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Here are the Elite awards for boys field, starting with small schools.

Small Schools

The small school winner for boys field events is an athlete who came into Section V as an eighth grader jumping over 20-feet and his jumping career has blossomed.

Now he is ranked as the number one sophomore triple jumper in the nation and a top 5 all time Sophomore with a jump of 49-feet, one half inch.

This year he started by winning his league championships, then sectionals, state qualifiers, and finally peaking at States in both Long Jump and Triple Jump where he won state titles in both events.

He broke the Wayne finger lakes league records in both jumps and is the greatest jumper in his school’s history.

He is currently slated to represent section V in the upcoming Penn Relays in both events and he is doing this all at the age of 15-years-old.

The Small school field events winner is from Midlakes and his name is Aiden Bryant !

Large Schools

Our large school winner repeated his Sectional performance from last year by again winning the weight throw and shot put championship.

He followed up these performances by winning a state title in the shot put and finishing second in the weight throw.

He also was invited and participated in The 111th Milrose Games – one of the most prestigious events a high schooler can attend. Only 6 throwers in the country were invited.

He is the greatest thrower in school history, holding school records in the indoor and outdoor shot put, the weight throw and the discus.

The Elite Award winner for large schools field events is Peter Northrup from Penfield.
