ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — These are the News 8 Primetime 585 Elite Awards for girls basketball.

Large Schools

She’s all-around player, who also plays soccer, and averaged 19.5 points, 5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.2 steals last season, while shooting 45% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc.

This career 1,000 point scorer led her team to a school-record tying 22 wins and she was the Sectional MVP in Section Five’s most competitive bracket.

She scored 27 points in the Regional championship and another 27 in the State semifinals, both wins.
She followed that with 20 points in the state final.

Small Schools

The small school winner is a three-sport athlete who recently broke a 30-year-old outdoor track record at her school.

In basketball, she has been named 1st Team All-League Finger Lakes West three consecutive years and was named League MVP this year, while averaging 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 assists.

She has helped lead her basketball team to three consecutive finals appearances, and this year, led her team to her school’s first sectional championship since 1991.

She is a three-time All-Tournament team member and was named tournament MVP this year.
She is currently in the top 5 in career active scoring leaders in section V, and still has one year left!
