Monroe County Legislative Youth Awards

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Kids in our community doing remarkable things were recognized by Monroe County Thursday.

Multiple students were rewarded during the Legislative Youth Awards. The two main awards the Willie Lightfoot Youth Advocate of the Year, and Young Citizen of the Year.

We had a chance to catch up with the winner of the Young Citizen of the Year Award. Jeyliana Ramos was recognized for her role in helping students at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Middle School, and hosting a blood drive in honor of childhood cancer, as a survivor herself.
