Imagination Library receives $500k in State Budget funding

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — As final budget deals loom, local leaders and child literacy advocates are celebrating a major win for early child reading.

We recently told you about Rochester’s chapter of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library being at risk of not receiving the state funding needed to expand its efforts.

State Senator Jeremy Cooney shared that the program will be receiving $500,000 to increase the number of young people who have access to these books not just in Rochester — but statewide.
