Rochester residents invited to Disaster Preparation Training course

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Rochester residents have been invited to ‘get ready to respond and recover’ at a Disaster Preparation Training Course.

The New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps training corps class teaches residents the best steps to take and covers supplies to have on hand in the event of natural or manmade disasters.

Each family that participates in the course will receive a free New York State Disaster Preparedness Kit with examples of items useful in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.

“Unfortunately, disaster situations do happen, so it’s a good idea to learn what you can do ahead of time to stay safe, protect your loved ones, minimize damage and return to normal as soon as possible,” Mayor Malik Evans said.

The training class is offered at the David F. Gantt R-Center on April 25 at 6 p.m.
