Monroe County golf courses open for the season Monday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — As if it were almost planned this way, Monroe County golf courses are opening for the season on a sunny Monday.

You can book your tee times here at the three public courses: Durand Eastman, Genesee Valley and Churchville.

Seniors (over 62), active military, veterans, golfers with certified disabilities and kids under 17 can apply for free season permits for discounted green fees at pro shops at any of the three courses.

Driving ranges at Genesee Valley and Churchville are closed due to wet conditions. Golf carts are limited to cart paths at Genesee Valley and Churchville and off-limits entirely at Durand Eastman for the same reason.

According to the county, more than $2 million in upgrades have been made over the past year, including completion of golf cart paths at Genesee Valley and Churchville, along with new tee boxes and drainage improvements at Durand Eastman.
