ROCHESTER. N.Y. (WROC) — The Bright Star Women’s Shelter got the chance to visit the Memorial Art Gallery on Thursday thanks to a local nonprofit.

The Dezio & Gingello Foundation brought ladies from the shelter for a private tour with a free dinner included at Veneto’s Italian on East Avenue.

Jake Bishop, the Executive Director at the Dezio & Gingello Foundation said, “I think being able to offer an opportunity to go to one of Rochester’s most well-known attractions to help get their mind off of it for, you know, couple hours. And try to connect and collaborate with other organizations too has been a blessing. It means a lot to be able to work with community partners and say, hey, human trafficking affects everyone, domestic violence, there’s safe places in Rochester like Bright Star for women to be able to go”

The foundation said they hoped to highlight the women’s shelter and local Rochester attraction with this action,
