ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Monroe County Water Authority has been ranked as one of the water utilities with the highest amount of customer satisfaction, according to a recent study.

J.D. Power ranked the Monroe County Water Authority as the highest-ranked in terms of customer satisfaction under the category of “Northeast Midsize.” The utility received a score of 583.

The utility serves several towns and villages in Monroe County such as Brighton, Greece, Pittsford, Gates, Penfield, and Webster. The City of Rochester is not included — it is served by the Rochester Water Bureau. A full map of service areas can be found here.

According to J.D. Power, the study measured the satisfaction among the customers of 92 water utilities across eight regions in the US. Some of the factors taken into consideration include the information provided, quality, reliability, trust, costs, and resolving complaints, among others.

The Monroe County Water Authority has received multiple awards in customer satisfaction, with the most recent being in 2021.

The study also looked into customers’ views of water safety, with only 41% of people in the national study believing their water is not safe to drink.
