    Autism Council, DMV to issue IDs for special needs families

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The Autism Council of Rochester and the Monroe County Mobile DMV unit will team up on Saturday to provide special needs families with New York State government-issued IDs for their children and young adults.

    The event will take place at the Autism Family Information and Referral Service Center in the Westgate Plaza on Chili Avenue behind Applebee’s by Walmart from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    “We are excited to continue our partnership with the Department of Motor Vehicles to bring this
    much-needed service directly to our special needs families,” Lawana Jones, President &
    Chief Executive Officer – Autism Council of Rochester, Inc., said. “We are providing these services to help continue to support inclusion, and accessibility, while paving the way for special needs
    families to navigate their dreams with confidence and dignity.”
