ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Organizers of the Park Avenue Summer Stroll addressed concerns about the lack of the Summer Arts Festival.

The cancellation of the Summer Arts Festival happened before 2023. Organizers said it was due to issues with cost management and finding a replacement for the promoter of the festival, who retired in 2020.

Another factor the organizers highlighted was that fans of the festival felt the annual event became a large party instead of an art and business showcase.

The Summer Stroll is meant to address these concerns, with organizers saying they are working to capture the spirit of the Summer Arts Festival. They will scale the event down and work to make it more manageable.

When News 8 spoke to business owners on Park Avenue last year, some of them said they were relieved the festival is not coming back yet in full fashion.

The Summer Stroll will be held on Saturday, August 3. Those who wish to apply to be an art vendor still have time to do so. The last day to apply is Tuesday, May 14.

I loved going to the Park Ave Festival in the past to check out the artwork, have breakfast or lunch at one of the restaurants, and spend money at the local businesses. I hope it comes back someday.
