    Irondequoit flag football wins playoff opener against Churchville-Chili

    IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WROC) — Madison Beardsley tossed a trio of touchdowns as Irondequoit flag football took down Churchville-Chili 20-0 in the first round of the Class A sectional tournament.

    Beardsley threw touchdowns to Anastasia Hall and Norah Mantell in the first half to give the Eagles a 13-0 halftime lead. Hall had another receiving touchdown in the second half.

    Annamaria Hagen had an interception for Churchville-Chili in the first half while Irondequoit’s Amelia Reidmiller thwarted a potential end-of-half scoring drive with a pick. Abiola Komassou tallied 10 flag pulls for the Eagles.

    Irondequoit (6-6) will take on second-seeded Penfield on Monday, May 13th. The two teams met on April 18th with Penfield winning 28-6.

    Churchville-Chili’s season ends with a 1-8-2 record.

    This is the first year of a state tournament in flag football. Last season ended in the state regional round.
