Spencerport flag football pulls off upset in quarterfinals

WEBSTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Spencerport pulled off an upset win Monday night taking down Schroeder 18-12. With just one second remaining, MacKenzie Wood tossed a short touchdown pass to McKenna Dwyer for the game winning score.

Schroeder jumped out to a quick 12-0 lead behind two rushing touchdowns from Gia Catalano and Shannon Koomen. Spencerport answered later in the first half behind a short rushing score from Wood. In the second half, the Rangers tied it up after Wood connected with Jorja Gray on a deep touchdown pass.

(6) Spencerport will face (2) Penfield on Thursday, May 16th in Class A semifinals. The Patriots won the first matchup this season 19-7.

(3) Schroeder had their season come to an end with a 7-3-1 record.
