Lilac Run 2024: Race courses and road closures

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The final day of the Rochester Lilac Festival is upon us and runners are preparing for the annual Lilac Runs and Donut Dash!

Both the 5K and 10K races will return to the festival on Sunday, May 19 for both in-person runs and virtual runs. The 5K race will start at 8 a.m. and the 10K at 9:30 a.m. Both of the runs will take participants through Highland Avenue and Brighton.

Following both races will be the family-fun Dunkin’ Dash! Those who participate will run a half mile, grab a donut, and run back to win a free T-shirt.

Spots for all three events are open, but registration for the races will end prior to the beginning of the race. The fee to register for the 5K is $40, the 10K is $50, and the Dunkin’ Dash is $15.

Due to the races, the Brighton Police Department said to expect traffic delays and road closures on Highland Avenue, Monroe Avenue, Elmwood Avenue, and South Clinton Avenue.
