VICTOR, N.Y. (WROC) — Libby Boland netted the game-winner with 53 seconds remaining to help Victor take down Brighton 7-6 in the Class B sectional semifinals.

The largest lead in the contest was one goal as neither team could separate. It was tied at 4-4 at the break.

In the third quarter, Victor outscored Brighton 2-1 to take a 6-5 lead into the final frame. However, the Bruins responded early in the fourth quarter to knot the game at 6.

It was a slow-paced fourth quarter with both teams using the clock and using a methodical offense. With 2:31 remaining, the Blue Devils gained possession of the ball.

Victor passed the ball around the perimeter until Boland got possession of it with less than a minute to play. Boland found a crease and sent a rocket into the net for the game-winner. It was her only goal of the game.

Devin Livingston led Victor with three goals. Morgan Livingston, Julia Bruno, and Camryn Adrid rounded out the scoring for Victor.

Leading the way for Brighton was Lucy Lederman, who scored three points. Riley Lawrence had two goals while Ireland Mistretta netted one goal.

    (2) Victor moves on to the Class sectional title game to play (1) Canandaigua. The game will take play on Wednesday, May 29th at Finger Lakes Community College.

    (6) Brighton had their season come to an end with a 9-9 record.
