ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Construction is underway for the 56th annual butter sculpture, which is slated to be unveiled at the 2024 New York State Fair.

As opening day for the fair grows closer, 800-pounds of butter from O-AT-KA Milk Products in Batavia and Western New York dairy farmers arrived at the fairgrounds.

After the fair closes each year, the butter is deconstructed and brought back to Noblehurst Farms, a dairy farm in Livingston County where the butter is then recycled, and turned into renewable energy.

Last year’s butter sculpture was themed ‘Dairy Every Day is a Healthy Way – Keeping Kids Health on Track.’

The Butter Sculpture is set to be unveiled live on the American Dairy Association’s Facebook page Aug. 20 before opening day of the NYS fair on Aug. 21.
