ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The St. Josephat’s Ukrainian Festival is scheduled to begin Thursday night.

Another busy week of events in Rochester: Here’s what to look out for!

In year’s past, the event featured Ukrainian arts and crafts, live entertainment and authentic Ukrainian food.

“We love the food. We have all kinds of great Ukrainian food. We have the Varenyky or the Perogies. We have Holubtsi or the cabbage rolls. We have the Ukrainian Kovbasa,” said Rev. Weiner during last year’s interview.

On Facebook, the event’s official page wrote of this year: “The food is delicious. The beer is cold. The vendors are waiting. The volunteers are proud. The dancers can’t wait to perform. The singers are fantastic. The musicians are masterful.”

The last two years of the festival have been a heavy weight to carry for some who have loved ones in Ukraine amid the war with Russia.

During the entirety of this year’s festival, RocMaidan , a 100% volunteer-based non-profit organization out of Rochester, will be accepting donations for Ukraine humanitarian and medical relief. The organization can be found at the festival’s main tent.

The event runs Thursday through Sunday. The festival starts Thursday from 6 p.m. until 10:45 p.m., Friday from 6 p.m. until midnight, Saturday from 1 p.m. until midnight, and Sunday from 1 p.m. through 7 p.m.

It’s located at St. Josaphat’s church on 940 Ridge Rd., East Rochester.
