EPA opens tours of its largest research vessel for Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Environmental Protection Agency’s largest research vessel will be coming to Rochester this weekend!

The Lake Guardian is the EPA’s largest research vessel currently operating on the Great Lakes. The main purpose of the vessel is to monitor the Great Lakes Ecosystem.

On Saturday, the EPA will dock the Lake Guardian at the Port of Rochester Marina. They will open the vessel to the public and will hold tours through the vessel.

Tour times for the vessel will be at 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 17. The event is weather-dependent.
