ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A few pets were rescued from a house fire in the Town of Rush Sunday evening. Officials were unable to specify just how many pets were saved.

A portion of West Henrietta Road in Rush was closed down by Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies Sunday around 8 p.m. for the fire. The area reopened about two hours later.

According to Mike Terzo Jr., the first assistant fire chief with the Rush Fire Department, they were able to get to the scene within four minutes of the initial call. Once there, crews were met with a blaze inside the home but were able to quickly knock it down.

The house was not completely destroyed, Terzo said, but two people are displaced for the time being. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
