Driver killed in fiery crash on Ridge Road

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Police confirmed a driver is dead after a fiery crash on Ridge Road in Webster, according to authorities.

The crash happened around 5 a.m. Investigators said the vehicle appeared to have been traveling eastbound on Ridge Rd. near Holt Road before crashing into a pole. The car ended up fully engulfed in fire.

The driver was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he later died.

Drivers are asked to avoid this area as it will remain closed through the night, according to the Department of Transportation.
