    Woman found guilty in Rochester kidnapping case sentenced to probation

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A woman convicted in connection to the abduction of a 4-year-old boy and his mother in 2023, was sentenced Thursday. The situation set off an Amber Alert that March.

    Ni’Asia Rodney, now 21, was arrested alongside two teenagers last year in the case. Prosecutors said they helped now-25-year-old Daniel Ponder, take the child and his mother from a home on Fulton Avenue in Rochester. This happened in the morning of March 25.

    The mother and her son were reportedly missing for hours before being found in a different home on Reynolds Street in Rochester. RPD also activated SWAT for the search.

    Rodney was sentenced to probation.
