    Syracuse men’s soccer opens the season with shutout win

    HAMILTON, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) –

    The 25th-ranked Syracuse men’s soccer team opened the 2024 season with a 1-0 road win at Colgate on Thursday night.

    Chimere Omeze broke a scoreless game, striking for the only goal of the game with 2 minutes and 37 seconds to play.

    SU keeper Tomas Hut posted the shutout, finishing with four saves. ‘Cuse improves 8-0-1 all-time against the Colgate.

    Syracuse returns to action on Sunday for its home opener at the SU Soccer Stadium against Niagara at 7 p.m.
