    Events on the last week of August in Rochester!

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — We’re at the last week of August — let’s check out the last batch of events before school starts back up next month!

    Throughout the Week

    Last week of the Sunflower Spectacular

    If you haven’t gone to Wickham Farms yet, this is your last chance to enjoy the Sunflower Spectacular until its gone for the year!

    The Sunflower Spectacular’s last day is September 2 as guests are encouraged to come out and enjoy its last full week this summer. Visitors can check out the multiple acres of sunflowers, pick flowers, or buy pre-cut sunflowers.

    The Great New York State Fair

    This week is your last chance to take a trip down to Syracuse to enjoy the rides, entertainment, and food at the New York State Fair. This is the last full week of this year’s fair before it closes on Monday, September 2.

    Sweeney Todd at Theatre444

    Theatre444 is continuing its production of the Broadway musical “Sweeney Todd” until September 1

    The show will be performed at the Black Box Theatre in Geneva at 7 p.m. for the August 29-31 shows. The show will start early at 4 p.m. on September 1.

    Tuesday, August 27

    Boys & Girls Club’s Backpack Giveaway

    The Boys & Girls Club of Rochester will host a back-to-school backpack giveaway from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Each backpack will be filled with school supplies for students attending the event.

    Wednesday, August 28

    Downtown Rochester Farmer’s Market

    Happening at Parcel 5 — the Downtown Rochester Farmers Market is back open from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. as guests can check out the local vendors, farmers, and food trucks!

    Food Truck Rodeo

    Rochester’s Food Truck Rodeos continues at the Rochester Public Market from 5 to 9 p.m. Guests will be able to try out the many food trucks in the Rochester area!

    Ruby Shooz at Concerts by the Shore

    It’s a night of vintage music at Ontario Beach Park — as Concerts by the Shore is close to wrapping up for the year!

    Ruby Shooz is a local band that has performed classic rock from the 50s and 60s for decades! They wil be performing at the park at 7 p.m.

    Thursday, August 29

    Pentatonix at CMAC

    Grammy-award-winning music group Pentatonix is coming to Canandaigua this week. The a capella group is bringing a special guest — pop singer David Archuleta!

    The doors open to the concert at 5:30 p.m. as the performance will kick off at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available through CMAC’s website .

    Friday, August 30

    Miranda Lambert at CMAC

    Following Pentatonix, country superstar Miranda Lambert is bringing some special guests with her to CMAC this week!

    The Grammy-nominated country singer is bringing rock band The Cadillac Three and singer-songwriter Adam Hood with her to the show. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show kicks off at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale through CMAC’s website.

    Movies in the Park

    After a few weeks, the last film screening for this week’s Movies in the Park will happen tonight. The film that will be screened is “A Bug’s Life.” The movie will be screened half an hour after sunset.

    Saturday, August 31

    Wings over Batavia

    The Wings over Batavia Air Show will kick off at the Batavia Airport, featuring the US Airforce F-16 Viper Demonstration Team and many other performers.

    The show will take place from 2 p.m. to 9 pm. through Sunday, September 1.

    Solooza at Photo City Music Hall

    Photo City Music Hall will host a festival-themed rave called “Solooza.” The rave will begin on Saturday and will continue to midnight on September 1.
