ROC airport nominated for USA Today Best Small Airport list

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport is in the running for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Award for Best Small Airport.

A panel nominated 20 airports for the award. The top 10 will be chosen by the public through an online poll . Voting closes on September 23.

“Our hometown airport is being recognized for this national competition thanks to its
commitment to providing the highest quality passenger experience in the industry,” Monroe County Executive Adam Bello said in a statement released Wednesday. “Recognitions like this can help us attract new airlines and desirable destinations, so I encourage everyone in our community to show their support and help the ROC Airport receive this prestigious award once again.”

The local airport finished 10th on the list in 2023. According to Monroe County, the airport hosted more than 2.6 million travelers that year, the highest number in the past 15 years.
