Ten years since Officer Daryl Pierson was killed in the line of duty

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — It has now been ten years since RPD Officer Daryl Pierson was killed in the line of duty.

Officer Pierson was shot on September 3, 2014 , at point-blank range while chasing a suspect. This happened in the area of Hudson Avenue and Ernst Street.

He was rushed to Rochester General Hospital. Doctors attempted to save his life, but Officer Pierson passed away. He was 32 years old.

Thomas Johnson III was identified as the man who shot and killed Officer Piersonl. H

On September 10, 2014, Officer Pierson was buried at White Haven Memorial Park. He left behind a wife and two children.
