ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — New York State Police are looking for your help after several dozen brass grave markers were stolen from a Victor cemetery.

Troopers said the thefts happened between Sunday, Sept. 1 and Labor Day. About 40 U.S. Veteran grave markers were taken from St. Patrick’s Cemetery on 990 High Street.

Victor Supervisor Jack Marren called the act disappointing, adding “Our hearts go out to the families of these valued veterans who supported this Country when the call to duty rose. I am hopeful that someone recognizes that these pieces of brass have more worth than the monetary value it will bring to these thieves and will do the right thing by returning these forever medals of honor to our departed heroes.”

Police are asking anyone with information to call 585-398-4100.
