ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A community is in mourning as friends, family and neighbors remembered the four people suspiciously found dead inside a home in Irondequoit over the weekend.

Parents, four-year-old, and two-year-old found dead in homicide

Thursday, a vigil was held in honor of the family. The community came out in support, laying down toys, lighting candles and placing photos of the family at their Knapp Avenue home.

“Today, we don’t say goodbye,” Thursday’s prayer began. “We say see until we meet again as the Lord allows us to meet them one more time…In the midst of this sad tragedy, we can assure you that we have a God who is willing and able to bring us a comfort in a time of need.”

Family and friends remembered the lives lost: 30-year-old Fraime Ubaldo, 26-year-old Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 4-year-old Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, and 2-year-old Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno. Loved ones were visibly emotional as they tried to come to terms with the unexpected tragedy.

Irondequoit Police responded to the home initially for a fire. However, when crews went inside, that’s when they found the four bodies. The Police Chief called it a homicide, one of the worst he has seen in his career.

News 8 spoke with one neighbor off camera, who said she remembers seeing the family walk up and down the street frequently. Always joyful. Always together. She added she was heartbroken Saturday when she found out they had been killed.

She also agreed with the message of Thursday’s prayer.

“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”

The Godmother of the children killed has created a GoFundMe for the family of the victims to help with travel costs .

News 8 did also check in with Chief Scott Peters with Irondequoit Police. He said there are no updates on this investigation at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
