    Apple picking: Open farms near you for the upcoming season

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Days are becoming shorter, and the leaves on the trees are turning as the fall season quickly approaches.

    With fall just around the corner, that means it is just about apple and pumpkin picking season as well!

    Apple Picking:

    G and S Orchards is opening the orchards for apple picking on September 7. The Farm Stand is open every day from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

    Wickham Farms is kicking off its Fall Fest on September 3, which means fall food, hayrides, pumpkin picking, several interactive attractions, and more open throughout the farm. Wickham Farms has 13 different apples to choose from and is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for picking.

    West Wind Farm and Blue Barn Cidery have several apples available for picking until October 30. You can also find some pumpkins to pick at West Wind Farm starting September 20.

    Kirby’s Farm Market in Brockport opens for the season on September 18. The market sells bags for collecting and also allows you to bring your own wagon. The orchard will be open for picking from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sundays.

    Lagoner Farms will open apple picking on September 24, and every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Apple cider donuts, caramel apple pecan pies, apple dumplings, and more will also be available. There will also be additional days open on Friday, October 11, and Monday, October 14,

    Robb Farms in Spencerport has more than 19 varieties of apples. This family-friendly farm is great for people of all ages and has cider and donuts for visitors.

    Schutt’s Apple Mill located in Webster, has its annual ‘U-Pick’ open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with sixteen different apples that will become available throughout September and October. The mill says no dogs and glass bottles and has a ‘carry-in, carry-out’ policy.
