ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Stay up to date on the latest headlines in today’s Sunrise Smart Start for Friday, September 6, 2024.

Weather Forecast: Dry day before the rain arrives this evening

All good things must come to an end. After a long stretch of dry weather, the rain returns to our forecast for today. But the good news is it doesn’t move in until later tonight! We currently have a cold front that is lingering to our west that is not expected to make its way to the Rochester region until dinnertime. Therefore, we will remain mostly dry throughout most of today. Temperatures are expected to climb up into the low to mid 80s for highs today. The boundary is expected to reach Rochester by early evening, introducing the potential of downpours and storms into the picture. The front essentially “hits the brakes” and we are left with a wet night.
