RCSD School No. 16 officially renamed after Dr. David and Ruth Anderson

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A ribbon cutting was held at the former John Walton Spencer School Number 16 in Rochester, which was renamed in honor of Dr. David and Ruth Anderson.

Dr. David Anderson is a renowned Frederick Douglass historian who has a legacy of helping folks in the community understand and appreciate African-American history.

Ruth Anderson taught elementary school for 23 years, and she has produced educational materials including the multimedia interactive curriculum “Our Stories/Our Selves 19th century Afro-Rochester.”

They were both able to take part in Friday’s naming ceremony.

Those people are responsible for the majority of crimes in the city so apparently they earned the right to rename schools. 🤣

I'm really getting sick of the renaming of just about every building in the City, including the Airport from white people to African American people. I have no problem with African Americans, but what I do have a problem with is the fact that the White people apparently have no place in the City of Rochester any longer. John Walton Spencer brought a great deal to the people of Rochester, especially the children. He taught them a great deal and basically dedicated his life to the children of Rochester. Shame on the City School District Rochester for yet again erasing history!
