Peppermint Boutique expands in Culver Rd. Armory

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Peppermint Boutique celebrated its expansion in the Culver Road Armory Friday.

It’s the home of the original 585 Gifts, selling handmade artwork, clothing, and jewelry.

More than 1,200 square feet of space has been added to the original location. The business celebrated with a party Friday, including a gift card raffle for customers.

Owner Tanvi Asher said the expansion would allow her to create new job opportunities, and encourage people to shop local.

“I think it’s important to invest in your communities,” she said. “This is basically a huge achievement for me and my team.”

Asher said the business chooses a charity to donate to each year. This year’s charity is Dimitri House, a non-profit that helps underserved communities in the Rochester area.

Customers who donated were entered for a chance to with a $250 gift card.
