ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) — Sunday, winds are generally westerly with cool air still in place across the region. Above our heads, it will be cold enough in comparison to the lakes to help spark a few lake effect and lake enhanced rains showers throughout the day. This will not be a washout in Rochester, or Orchard Park for the Bills home opener against the Cardinals. We will once again be fairly cool though with highs in the mid-60s again so be sure to dress for the weather not the season.

To kick off our workweek, rain chances will still remain in the picture as scattered lake effect showers continue during Monday. These could be heavy at times and will swing through much of the region as wind shifts throughout the day. Temperatures will be marginally warmer, reaching the lows 70s for highs. The rain is expected to clear out during the evening hours as temperatures fall into the low 50s.

From Tuesday on, it looks like Rochester will enter a dry stretch, as well as a warming trend. Tuesday and Wednesday will feature less clouds than the days prior. Temperatures for both days will range between the upper 70s and low 80s.

    8-Day Forecast

High pressure continues its dominance throughout the rest of the week and into the first part of the weekend. Temperatures for both Thursday and Friday will be in the low to mid 80s. Skies remain clear heading into Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures remaining in the low 80s.
