    Tornado confirmed in Allegany County

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Allegany County Friday night.

    According to the NWS storm survey team, between 9:34 p.m. and 9:50 p.m, an EF-1 tornado traveled for six miles between the Town of Wirt and the Town of Friendship.

    The tornado had a maximum path width of 200 yards and maximum wind speeds of 100 mph, the NWS said.
