ROCHESTER, N.Y., (WROC) — Brighton High School was put under a hold in place Monday, after multiple students were stung by bees during a fire drill.

According to the Brighton Central School District, the stung students were taken to the health office for evaluation. Families of the impacted students will be notified by the school.

A “pest professional” will be on site Monday to address the nest of ground bees outside the building.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

The school better teaches the students how to recognize a ground bee nest and how to behave properly. It might be better for everybody, including the students, than getting a 'pest professional' on the ground to make sure they destroy the home of an insect that has such an enormous positive impact on our ecosystem. isn't that what schools are for? To teach?

That's not surprising I've been stung several times in my own backyard in Irondequoit East Irondequoit
