ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The community pool at Brighton Town Hall will remain open amid renovations.

The Town of Brighton announced the pool will not only stay, but it will become a part of a new recreational facility. Town Supervisor William Moehle said they plan to replace the playground near the pool with a more accessible version and will install a new splash pad.

These new enhancements will be funded by a $1.2 million grant secured by Senator Jeremy Cooney and Assemblymember Sarah Clark.

“We heard the residents of Brighton loud and clear that the Town Hall pool is an important community resource,” Moehle said in a statement. “Now, thanks to Senator Cooney and Assemblymember Clark, the pool will be the centerpiece of the enhanced recreation facilities here at Town Hall that will provide recreational opportunities for children of all ages and abilities and their families.”

Town officials will reveal more information at a news conference at Brighton Town Hall Monday afternoon at 2 p.m.
