ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The West Irondequoit Central School District is getting $1 million in state funding to expand its universal pre-k program.

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Assemblywoman Sarah Clark toured the Pinegrove building Tuesday, a former elementary school in the district at the center of a $6 million plan to renovate three classrooms for universal pre-k.

The renovations would also update classrooms at the Helmer Nature Center.
