Tractor trailer rolls over, hits construction vehicle on thruway in Henrietta

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A tractor-trailer hit a construction vehicle and rolled over westbound off the Thruway in Henrietta.

According to Henrietta Fire District, the tractor-trailer was hauling empty glass jars that struck a passenger vehicle and then hit a wheeled excavator that was doing work on the Thruway, tearing the axle off the excavator.

The tractor-trailer proceeded to take down 100 feet of guardrail before rolling over and off the thruway down a hill.

The driver of the excavator suffered from minor injuries, and the tractor-trailer driver and passenger vehicle driver were uninjured.

Parts of the thruway were closed overnight, but the roads are cleared as of Wednesday morning.
