Rochester Red Wings host first homerun derby

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The Rochester Red Wings – hitting it out of the park with their first ever homerun derby.

Partnering with Vision Automotive Group to make this event possible, the Red Wings had a very special guest MC – Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin!

The home run derby featured local high school and college athletes along with other hometown hero’s all competing to be the Rochester home run champion. Even Spikes got in on the action!

The event was a huge family hit with tons of fun giveaways and surprises.

The first 1,000 attendees were greeted with a free hot dog and ice cream sandwich and everyone who went was also given a $500 voucher from Vision Automotive Group to be used towards the purchase of a vehicle.

If that wasn’t enough, Damar Hamlin was also running around tossing out T-shirts, free oil changes and limited-edition Red Wings merchandise.

As for those who actually make a living hitting home runs – the Red Wings next game at Innovative Field will be Tuesday September 17 against the Iowa Cubs.
