ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – What a stretch of weather! Skies are mostly clear this afternoon. A weak system to the north will send rain through southern Ontario, Canada, but it will not make it into Western New York. All we have is a few clouds to speak of that slip on by as temperatures get into the upper 70s to near 80°.

Dry air and sunny skies will go from Virginia to Maine and through the Great Lakes Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will start in the 50s and finish in the 80s. By this time, the remnants of Francine will bubble across the Ohio River Valley, but it’s unlikely it breaks into New York State.

    8-Day Forecast

Note that some wildfire smoke will make its way overhead, making for hazy skies across the region.

The weekend looks rain free as a separate area of high pressure pushes in from Canada. We are going to keep the ball rolling well into next week.
