ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Geneva police are searching for a suspect after a man was reportedly stabbed multiple times while sitting in his vehicle on Elmwood Avenue.

The Geneva Police Department says officers responded to Geneva General Hospital around 8:00 a.m. for the report of a person stabbed. They found a 30-year-old man with numerous serious stab wounds to the upper body.

According to GPD, the man was sitting in his parked vehicle on Elmwood Avenue when he was approached and stabbed multiple times with a knife.

The suspect is described as a slender muscular black man between the ages 30 and 35 who is around 6-feet tall. He is also described as clean shaven with short hair and was last seen wearing red sweatpants and a light grey hoodie.

Police say the victim is being treated for his injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.

Officers are currently canvasing the area and following up on several leads. The Geneva Police Department’s Detective Bureau determined that this was an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the community.

The investigation is still ongoing. Geneva police ask anyone with information or video surveillance footage to contact Geneva Police Department.
